Friday, July 29th: Bronco North Zone Tournament, Joliet, IL: Pool Play Game 3
Channahon 9, Murphysboro 4
Channahon advances to the Zone semi-finals with the hard-fought win. Murphysboro jumped to a 2-0 lead in the first inning. Channahon answered back in the 2nd inning to take the lead 3-2 behind consecutive hits by Johnny Carnagio, Matt Brozovich and Nick Airola loaded the bases. Brandon Brodzinski laid down a perfect sacrifice bunt to score Carnagio. Brozovich scored on a wild pitch and Airola scored after a Murphysboro balk. In the fourth inning, after 2 quick outs, Jake Bugajski coaxed a walk in a 9 pitch at-bat and Jonny Butler reached safely on an infield hit and Derek Malone smacked an RBI single to score Bugajski. Jonny Butler scored on a Murphysboro balk and Malone scored a dropped third strike to make the score 6-2 after 4 innings. In the top of the 5th inning Murphysboro scored on a throwing error by Channahon. In the 5th inning, after Danny Beaudin was hit by a pitch, Drew Turek and John Wheaton had consecutive base hits. Hunter Nelson executed a perfect squeeze bunt down the first base line to score Beaudin. Jonny Butler then ripped a 2-out 2RBI double down the left-field line to give Channahon a commanding 9-3 lead. On the mound for Channahon, Derek Malone (3IP); John Wheaton (3IP) and Jackson Shepherd (1IP). Channahon advances to the Zone Semifinals tomorrow, 7/30, at 5:30pm.

Channahon 17, Kankakee 0
Channahon roared back after their opening game loss to Evansville behind a 12 hit attack in this five inning game. Channahon jumped to a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first behind RBIs from Johnny Carnagio and Nick Airola. After a Malone single in the 3rd inning, Carnagio and Airola contributed RBIs again to stake Channahon to a 5-0 lead after 3 innings of play. In the fourth inning, Channahon exploded for 12 runs behind Matt Brozovich triple, double and 3 RBIs, Jackson Shepherd's double and 3 RBIs, Johnny Carnagio 2RBI single, John Wheaton's 2RBI single. Danny Beaudin singled and scored a run. On the mound, Danny Beaudin (2IP); Jonny Butler (2IP) and Nick Airola (1IP) combined for a 2-hitter in the win.

Opening game of pool play for the Bronco North Zone Tournament at St. Joe's Park in Joliet, IL. For the game, Evansville pitching stifled Channahon at the plate. Jonny Butler led the attack for Channahon with a pair of doubles, single and 2 runs scored. Jackson Shepherd ripped a bases loaded double to drive in 2 runs. John Wheaton added an RBI single. Derek Malone singled. On the mound, Johnny Carnagio (4IP); Jackson Shepherd (2IP) and Jonny Butler (1IP).
Sunday, July 24th: Bronco 12U Regional Tournament in Kankakee: Championship Game
Channahon 12, Oak Park 2
After falling behind 2-0 in the second inning, Channahon responded behind a clutch two-out double by John Wheaton to get on the board and never looked back. For the game, Channahon banged out 13 hits in six innings of play. Derek Malone led the attack with 3 hits. Nick Airola (solo HR) and Jackson Shepherd (2-run) blasted long home runs to center field. Johnny Carnagio (RBI) and Matt Brozovich added 2 hits. Jonny Butler singled with an RBI. Danny Beaudin ended the game with an RBI single. On the mound, Jackson Shepherd (2IP); Jonny Butler (2IP); Johnny Carnagio (2IP). Next up on the road to Monterey, CA is Zone at St. Joe's Park in Joliet on Wednesday at 12:00pm vs Evansville, Indiana.
Saturday, July 23rd: Bronco 12U Regional Tournament in Kankakee: Semi-Finals
Channahon 19, Oak Park 3
At game time temperatures hit 98 degrees with a heat index of 105 degrees. The only thing hotter than the weather might be Channahon's bats! Channahon quickly cranked up their own version of a blast furnace to start the game by loading the bases to set the stage for Johnny Carnagio who blasted a 1-2 fastball off the right-center field light pole for a grand-slam HR to stake Channahon to a 4-0 lead in the top of the first inning. For the game, Channahon banged out 15 hits in five innings of play. Carnagio went 3-3 with 6RBIs to pace the . Jonny Butler also contributed 3 hits. Derek Malone ripped 2 hits; 5RBIs. Jackson Shepherd added a single, ground-rule double and 3RBIs. Jake Bugajski (RBI), Nick Airola (RBI), Matt Brozovich (2RBIs) had 2 hits. Danny Beaudin singled and scored a run. On the mound, Danny Beaudin brought his own version of heat to stifle the Oak Park offense pitching 3 scoreless innings for the win. Nick Airola and Derek Malone combined to pitch the final two innings.
Wednesday, July 20th: Bronco 12U Regional Tournament in Kankakee: Game 2
Channahon 17, Kankakee 3
Channahon erupted again in the first inning behind back-two-back home-runs by Jackson Shepherd (3-run HR) and Johnny Carnagio's solo HR. Drew Turek added a 2RBI single and Jonny Butler capped the scoring with an RBI single to stake Channahon to a 7-0 after one inning of play. Channahon continued the offensive attack in the 2nd inning sending 14 batters to the plate. Nick Airola and Drew Turek started with consecutive singles then walks to John Wheaton, Hunter Nelson and Jonny Butler set the stage for Derek Malone. After a Kanakakee pitching change, Malone ripped a fast-ball into the right-center field trees for a grand-slam HR. Then behind a Jackson Shepherd single, Johnny Carnagio ripped his 2nd HR of the game to right-center field for a 16-0 lead after two innings. For the game, Channahon banged out 17 hits in five innings of play, leading the way was Malone, Shepherd, Carnagio, Airola with 3 hits. Butler and Turek added two hits. Jake Bugajski singled. On the mound for Channahon, Johnny Carnagio (2IP); Jonny Butler (1IP); John Wheaton (1IP) and Nick Airola (1IP). Next game is Saturday, 7/23, at 5:00pm vs. Oak Park.
Tuesday, July 19th: Bronco 12U Regional Tournament in Kankakee: Game 1

Nick Airola launched a 3-run HR in the top of the first inning and Drew Turek followed with a grand slam in the second inning as Channahon raced to 9-0 lead after two innings. Jonny Butler added a 2-run homer in the 3rd inning and Matt Brozovich followed with a towering 3-run HR in the 4th inning. For the game, the Channahon offense banged out 15 hits. Drew Turek and Matt Brozovich led with 3 hits. Nick Airola and Johnny Carnagio contributed 2 hits. Jackson Shepherd, Hunter Nelson, Jake Bugajski, John Wheaton and Derek Malone added hits. On the mound, Jackson Shepherd (2IP); Derek Malone (1IP); Brandon Brodzinski (2IP) combined for the shutout. Channahon plays Kankakee Wednesday, 7/20 night at 8:00pm.

Saturday, July 16th: Bronco 12U Section Whiteford - Championship Game
Channahon 8, Whiteford 5
Channahon prevailed in another hard fought game. For the game, Johnny Carnagio sparked the Channahon attack by ripping a pair of doubles and key 2-out base hit to go with 3RBIs. Whiteford hung tough and took advantage of sloppy defensive lapses to keep the game close. Matt Brozovich, Jonny Butler and Drew Turek contributed key RBI base hits that kept the game out of reach as Whiteford challenged for the lead during the game. Whiteford. On the mound for Channahon, Danny Beaudin was strong going 4 innings allowing 3 hits, 2 unearned runs. Jonny Butler pitched the 5th inning and Derek Malone (2IP) closed the game to secure the Sectional Championship. Congratulations to both teams on a well played Sectional!!
Friday, July 15th: Bronco 12U Section Whiteford
Channahon 5, Whiteford 2
Hard fought game by both teams. Channahon failed to capitalize on several scoring opportunities in the early innings. Strong Whiteford defense held the Indians potent offense in check. In the 5th inning, Jonny Butler scored behind a Derek Malone single. Jackson Shepherd walked and Johnny Carnagio reached safely to load the bases and Nick Airola drew a walk to score Malone to tie the game. In the sixth inning, Hunter Nelson lead-off with a walk and Brandon Brodzinski laid down a great bunt to move Nelson to second base. Jonny Butler then ripped a 2RBI triple. Jackson Shepherd laid down a squeeze bunt to score Butler to make the score 5-2. On the mound, Johnny Carnagio went the distance to shut down Whiteford over 7 innings by allowing 2 earned runs; 9K's; 1BB.
Wednesday, July 13th: Bronco 12U Section Whiteford
Channahon 19, Wilmington 3
Channahon plated 6 runs in the bottom of the first inning and never looked back in the opening game of Section play at Whiteford. At the plate, Matt Brozovich led the 5 inning, 15 hit attack going 4-4 (2 singles, ground-rule double and a 325ft 3-run HR to left field that landed on the frontage road!). He finished the game with 8 RBIs. Jackson Shepherd went 2-3 (double, single, 3RBIs); Derek Malone singled twice and scored three runs. Nick Airola added a 2RBI triple. John Wheaton and Brandon Brodzinski doubled with RBIs. Jake Bugajski contributed 2 hits while Jonny Butler singled and scored 3 runs and Johnny Carnagio singled and scored 2 runs. On the mound for Channahon, Jackson Shepherd stymied Wilmington over 4 innings giving up 3 hits, 1 earned run. Matt Brozovich pitched the 5th inning to close the game. For Wilmington, McWilliams singled and doubled. Tjelle singled. On the mound for Wilmington was Steve Smock and Mietzner.
Sunday, July 10th: Best of Midwest Challenge at Benedectine University Championship Game
Channahon Indians 13, Bartlett Bandits 1
Rematch from pool play. Bartlett scored first in the top of the first inning and Channahon answered back behind Johnny Carnagio solo HR blast to left-center field and John Wheaton's 2-run double in the bottom of the first inning. Channahon scored 3 runs in the second inning and ended the game in the bottom of the 3rd inning by scoring 7 runs behind Matt Brozovich HR blast, Jonny Butler's 3RBI triple, Drew Turek and Danny Beaudin RBI doubles. Brandon Brodzinski and Jackson Shepherd RBI singles. On the mound, Danny Beaudin was stellar over 4 innings allowing 3 hits and 1 unearned run to shutdown a scrappy Bartlett team.

Sunday, July 10th: Best of Midwest Challenge at Benedectine University Semi-final Game
Channahon Indians 10, Barrington 0
Channahon opened the game with four consecutive hits. Jonny Butler singled, Jackson Shepherd doubled to score Butler. Johnny Carnagio singled to score Shepherd and then Matt Brozovich blasted a 2-run HR. For the game Butler went 3-3 (single, 2 doubles; 2RBIs). Drew Turek and Brandon Brodzinski singled and Jake Bugajski added a bunt single to score Brandon Brodzinski. On the mound was Johnny Carnagio (3IP) and Jonny Butler (2IP).

The Cooperstown hangover lifted. Channahon banged out 10 hits in this 4 inning game. Jonny Butler paced the attack with another 2-run HR blast, double and single. Drew Turek got his first career HR blast to go with a double and single. Matt Brozovich sparked the offense with a 3-run HR blast in the first inning. Jackson Shepherd added an RBI single in the first inning. Brandon Brodzinski and John Wheaton contributed base hits. On the mound was Wheaton (3IP) and Brodzinski (2IP).
Friday, July 8th: Best of Midwest Challenge Benedectine University

Cooperstown hangover continued with sloppy defensive play and poor at-bats. On a positive note, the pitching continued to be outstanding and was key until Jonny Butler sparked Channahon to the victory with a 2-run HR blast to center field. Matt Brozovich and Nick Airola added hits. On the mound, Jackson Shepherd (3IP); Nick Airola (1IP); Johnny Carnagio (2IP).

Channahon overcame sloppy defensive play (5 errors) to win their opening game in the tourney. Drew Turek led with 2 hits. John Wheaton doubled.
