Tuesday, June 21st: Mustang Tournament Championship Game
Von Holten Eye Care 16, Ranch Pharmacy 15
In the Championship Game that looked more like a scene from the Bad News Bears in the first inning turned into a game that would make Coach Buttermaker proud. Von Holten spotted the Pharmacists a 10 run lead in the first only to have the Big Blue Machine come back with 10 of their own. After the first both teams turned it up a notch and played a fantastic game. The game was postponed until Wednesday after 4 innings with the score tied 12-12. In the 5th Von Holten took the lead with a great RBI single by Joshua French. In the top of the 6th Shane O'Brien led off with a towering home run. Ranch Pharmacy ended up putting 2 more on the board and took a 15-13 lead. In the bottom of the 6th Brooke Brodzinski and Brennen Gears lead off with singles, TJ Heafey had an RBI, Kole Vaught was next with an RBI single to tie up the game. Then with the hit of the season Walker Anfield hit a frozen rope to center to score Vaught for the winning run! Leading the way for Von Holten was Brodzinski and Vaught who went 2-2, Anfield 2 hits, Gears, Heafey, Brandon Keyster, Tyler Peterson, and French added hits. Hitting for Ranch Pharmacy was O'Brien 2-2, Nate Allen and Shawn Walsh were each 2-3. After a rough start to the game this was a fantastic way to end a great Mustang Season! Great Come Back Boys and GIRLS!
Monday, June 20th: Mustang Tournament Consolation Game
Camz Communications 6, C&R Auto 5
This was a very well played, hard fought game for third place in the Mustang Tournament. Both teams made some great plays in the field but there was none better than Caiden White's running catch of a deep fly ball to left off of Mike Grabowski's bat with runners on first and third to end the game and secure the win for The Big Red Machine. A great game to end a great season for both teams. Enjoy the rest of your summers boys!
