Channahon 16, Whiteford 15
The 9U team showed that they aren't afraid of a challenge. After falling behind 7 runs in the first inning and 10 runs going into the bottom of the third, they tightened up the defense. The bats were hot all day and we started to find holes in the bottom of the third. The pitching was handled by Ben Muhich (2inn), Brett Hulbert (2inn), Hayden Host (1 inn) and Luan Osmani (1 inn). Whiteford did not score in the last 2 innings giving Channahon the opportunity to close the lead before finally going ahead in the bottom of the fifth. Key offensive moments occurred when Kivlin VanTassel added a bases clearing triple and Brett Widlowski put down an absolutely perfect bunt in the bottom of the fifth to get the rally started.

Channahon 11, Beecher 5
The 9U team opened their season defeating a very good Beecher team. We wasted no time getting the offense going, putting up 5 runs in the top of the first. Solid pitching from Ben Muhich, Joey Partridge, Kivlin VanTassel and Luan Osmani. The defense was strong all game long with key plays by Carter Stephenson, Brett Hulbert.
